Today in Heritage History,
May 24, 1830, Mary Had a Little Lamb is published by Sarah Joseph Hale. Hale later wrote a sequel song in 1832 that picks-up her story where the “teacher turned her (the lamb) out”. In the second song, Mary and her parents sue the school district for not allowing her to have her therapy pet on school property claiming it was a requirement of her special learning accommodation plan. The family’s attorney further said that the district had a “blatant disregard” for the sheep’s “positive impact” on learning, making other students “laugh and sing”.

Ohhh… now this is funny, but also a very good example of how the truth is so often found in jest.
And Gloria Allred made a nice piece of change and face time in the media for taking on the case. She won because the judge hearing the case deemed that all the press ops Gloria staged made finding a jury impossible.
I would have thought had roots England 1500′s like so many other MG rhymes and with others early 1600′s.
Oh, this is funny! I think of the “fairy tales” we were told, with the big, bad, wolf, Snow White in captivity; etc., etc., etc… good grief!! No wonder we had nightmares and grew up thinking this world just is not a safe place!!! Hehehe!
