ge History, June 20, 1990, the Florida Legislature passes a law prohibiting thong bathing suits on any public beach in Florida. This was in response to the hundreds of tourists who died aspirating on their own vomit, while sunbathing on their backs.

I suspect this is actually a law. If it isn’t, perhaps Rick Scott could try to do some good while he’s in office and make it a law.
