June 22, 1894- Illusions of Grandeur

Today in Heritage History, June 22, 1894, Harry Houdini marries Bessie Rahner. The couple honeymooned in a four star trunk at the bottom of the Hudson River while shackled in chains, handcuffs, and straight jackets.  Mrs. Houdini happily reported that her (new) husband was able to successfully “pull-off” his Expanding Weenie illusion for the entire two-week honeymoon.
