Today in Heritage
History, June 27, 1914, the U.S. signs a Treaty of Commerce with Ethiopia. Ethiopian entrepreneurs wasted no time and immediately began their first shipment to the U.S. of the country’s primary export; rubble.
Today in Heritage History, June 27, 1899, the Gideon Society is established to place bibles in hotel rooms. The idea evolved from a practice started by Homer Gideon, a traveling Bible Salesman. Gideon began leaving the bibles in the rooms as his gift to others with a note that it was the best way to, “kill demon cockroaches”.
