July 12, 1832, Henry R. Schoolcraft discovers the source of the Mississippi River. Schoolcraft was able to trace the source of the river to a raw sewage leak from a basement in North Dakota.

Sorry, but you’re wrong. It’s too flat in NDAK for anything to flow. It’s actually run-off from breweries in MINN.
Unfortunately too many of the nation’s rivers seem to emanate from the same source.
