Today in Heritage History, August 24, 1456, the first edition of the Gutenberg Bible is released. Of little known historical fact, the first edition was recalled from public circulation at the request of Pope Rodrigo de Borja. Throughout the entire text, the word “Jesus” had been (mistakenly) replaced with the words, “Johannes Gutenberg”.
