Today in Heritage History, 1915, Albert Einstein publishes The General Theory of Relativity. Immediately after Einsteins publishes, controversy swirled about the legitimacy of his ownership rights to the Theory. Just one week prior to Einstein’s release of his publication, Sven Zuckerberg , Einstein’s room-mate at the University of Berlin published the same Theory, claiming the research work as his own. Zuckerberg had also been offering to sell “his” plans for the first atomic bomb to the German government for a “today only price” of $110 million.
Today in Heritage History, 1997, President Bill Clinton names his new Labrador Retriever, “Buddy”. This was only after advice from his Political Advisers. The President had taken the new First Family puppy to a doggie playground in Washington and watched (proudly) as the puppy tried to hump every female dog in sight, both moving and stationary. The President had wanted to use the name, “Pussy Hound”,”Snatch Sniffer” or,”Mini-me”, but his Advisers suggested the more toned-down but the still suggestive version; “Buddy”.
