Today in Heritage History, 1810, the (Catholic) French church annuls the marriage of Napoleon I and Josephine, with (apparently) limited animosity between the two. As part of their annulment agreement, Napoleon agreed that he would never make lewd comments in public about what a “wild cat” Josephine was in their grande chambre, and that he would never again ask an aide for a “boost-up” in her presence (as he needed) to purvey her breasts. In return, Josephine agreed to never make remarks in public about the Emperors small height and physical stature. She refused however to have the tattoo removed from below her navel area that said, “You must be at least this tall to ride Josephine”.
