Today in Heritage History, 1981, the first Richard Nixon museum opens in San Clemente, California. The historical accuracy of all the artifacts in the museum were questioned after one Historian doubted the authenticity of one of the museum photos. The photograph showed Richard Nixon and the Watergate Five all dressed as Santa, appearing to be exiting from the fireplace of the Watergate Hotel all carrying overstuffed bags full of gifts. The photo caption said; “Prick Democrats mistakenly arrest good intentioned Santa’s”.
