Today in Heritage History, 1985, as the worldwide Ambassadors for Disney International, the Mouse Family, (Mickey and Minney), are welcomed to China by Chinese government officials to begin work on Disney World China. They were lectured by President Li Xianniu and reminded that even though they were world-renowned celebrities, Chinese policy would still only allow them to have one child per family. The Duck Family (Donald, Daisy, Huey, Luey, and Dewey) was not as fortunate. Attempted to enter the country with their sons in tow, the government would only allow them to keep Huey, forcing them to give up both Luey and Dewey for international adoption, before allowing them to have work visas.
