Today in Heritage History, March 2, 1939, the Massachusetts Legislature votes to ratify the (U.S.) Bill of Rights, 147 years late. The original Bill was proudly displayed on its own float during Boston’s first St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 1792. Without the assistance of sober parade Marshalls the parade marched on to Los Angeles and back, taking 147 years and multiple generations of Irish to return.
