Today in Heritage History, April 26, 1906, the first motion pictures are shown in Hawaii. Throngs of natives gathered in curiosity at Grauman’s Hawaiian theater to watch the double feature, coincidentally starring their own native actors. Hawaiians fell in love again with their own Sidney Poitieboo-boo in “Guess Who’s Coming to Luau” and the young James Deanobooguh in”Rebel Without a Firestick”.
