Today in Heritage History, May 17, 1965, the Campbell Soup Company sells its first can of Spaghetti-O’s. Initially marketed as Spaghetti-Hoe’s, the company changed the product name after threats of a lawsuit from the Italian-American Anti-Defamation League. Campbell’s original name was resurrected and re-considered again years later by VH1 marketing executives as one possible name for their reality series that went on to be titled Mob Wives.
